Poet and playwright, I am a three-time recipient of the Spur Award for Poetry from Western Writers of America (for "Western Settings" in 2001, for "Roadside Attractions" in 2011, and for "Johnny Ringo" in 2013). "True West" magazine named me "Best Living Western Poet" in 2007.

I have published poems in over 200 magazines (including "Chum," "Concho River Review," "Los Angeles Review," "Midwest Quarterly," "Minnetonka Review," "Ontario Review," "Prairie Schooner," "Southwest Review," and "Weber: The Contemporary West").

My plays have been presented widely, including at State University of New York at Fredonia, Sundance Playwrights Lab, Sun Valley Festival of New Western Drama, and the Tony Award-winning Utah Shakespearean Festival.
